    Default A couple critters

    I am REALLY bad at seeing and photographing warm-blooded animals, but reptiles are no problem, even one as feisty as this painted turtle -



    I found it on a kind of 'main drag' trail and moved it to a vernal pool on a disused trail. It was raring to go. This garter snake on the other hand seemed perfectly willing to pose -



    Maybe someday I'll be able to photograph something without scales!

    Thanks. I was at a heron rookery yesterday, but found out my old legacy telephoto isn't up to the task. Bummer. I guess I'll have to stick to reptiles.

    I'm with Marko, love that "Painted" shot.
    Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
