'nother grebe

This is a discussion on 'nother grebe within the Animals (mammals, birds, insects etc.) forums, part of the Show your photo (Color) - Landscape & Nature (flowers, mountains, storms etc.) category; these little guys are just so cute... i just wish they'd come closer! this one was about 25 yards away, ...

    these little guys are just so cute... i just wish they'd come closer! this one was about 25 yards away, which doesn't seem like much till you realize these birds aren't much larger than a fat, amphibious pigeon... 40D, 400mm, 1/1000 @ f/6.3

    Very nice detail Squirl on a hard to capture subject. I have yet to get one that I really like of these tiny little ones.
    Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
