    Default My little morning surprise

We had frost this morning so I rushed out to shoot in the yard..leaves (which may be posted later..lol). I saw this little bird and wondered how close I could get as I don't have a lens to get me far. At a foot away..he stayed there! So I took some shots and realized..hmm..maybe this little guy is hurt.

I slowly put my hand towards him, petted him and still he wasn't going anywhere. Called my hubby out and after 5 mins of debate decided to try to put the bird out of cats way. I picked it up and just as i was starting to walk it flew to a near by bush. Minutes later, it flew off.

Still not to sure if it is hurt or stunned..still can't believe it didn't even try to peck at me.

Awesome shots. I love how close you got to him. I was trying to shoot a sparrow last week and he took off whenever he sensed the camera turn in his direction. I wonder if this little fellow was just really cold and sleeping with his eyes open? Did he move around at all as you approached?

    Colour for me too!

Thanks! Thanks for the input too! He was blinking but nothing more until I picked him up. Even when I pet it it didn't move.

Awesome shots there Kat, and definitely colour for me. Just brings out more detail IMO. Glad you could save him, or could have been cat-bait.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
