Thanks, Moin Moin and Wicked! In a way zoos are very sad sometimes but also they can be educational and perhaps even help the plight of endangered animals by making people more aware of what is going on with their wild counterparts.

oh I know, I'm a sucker for a good zoo (Cincinnati has gorillas in a really lovely display), but somehow gorillas seem so self-aware that I think that even if they were born in captivity, they've been told stories of life outside the zoo and can imagine it. Those eyes. That's what does it to me. Whatta softie.
