The shade was provided by a willow about the height of MAW's, but much leafier. It didn't help. There were nearly a dozen gulls in the shade of another tree. They couldn't work up the energy to harass a nearby picnic.

I decided to try a bookstore today. Yes, driving through town in a car with no air conditioning is so much better - not. What was I thinking? Tomorrow I'll try by the river again. I may end up sitting in the water just to get some relief from the heat. I hate summer.
