Been wanting to get one these little guys for ages but could never get close. Then in Tasmania this week, this little fella almost hopped onto my hand!

Thanks Bambi. I felt lucky getting this guy ... until an hour later in another location I got some more shots of another one
Very pretty little guy! Beautiful shot of him as well, M.A. Funny how when one has a whole bunch of photos to go through we tend to pick out the simple (composition wise) appealing shots like this to work on first. In a way it's kind of mentally relaxing. (The zen of photo editing ) anyway, real pretty little bird. He looks like a flower. Love that perky little tail.
As I said on Flickr - superb!
Thanks Iggy.
And yes JAS ... you are right. With so many to go through I decided to make an impact from my holiday with a couple of simple ones first before delving into the ones that need more work.
I've come home with a cold and keep coughing so I'm staying up late and watching the Tour De france to let Leanne get some sleep as she has to work tomorrow and I don't. Otherwise I wouldn't have started with my photos at all yet today.
My eyes are hanging out of my head though ... going to have to hit the hay soon.
What stunning colours! Just a beautiful bird and a wonderful photo - love the way how you framed it - including it's feathers!
