this was a photograph i took several years back and i added the violin cello in the bg. since i've tried all kinds of outputting, i experimented by applying a straight line screen on a23x30 image at 3.5 lines per inch that produced lines about .25" wide. i printed this and used it as a guide for carving out the black areas on 90 strips of .25x1.3x30" strips of wood. i carved out each strip, the black portions on the .25 side of the wood and when finished, i assembled and glued it on marine playwood to produce this image. the spaces between the wood strips are the dark areas. took about 3 weeks to finish
