Please, no nudity
I love the site, the podcast and forums and photography, but really, what's up with the nudity?? :headslap: I'm in my office, a Catholic priest, and going to post in the forum on feedback, and up pops three naked women. OK, I can see how it's an art form, but thankfully my door was closed. If someone like me is going online at work and the wrong image pops up, we could have some serious problems. Not cool.

Do we actually have nudity somewhere on the site where it's not at least properly labelled? Do you have a link to the post? I could at the very least add an indicator to the subject line.

Hi Paul,
Although 99.5 % of images are not nudes, there may be a few (less than 4 I would guess) nude images on this site but I'm not even sure. can you provide a link?
Thx!
Marko

Is there a no nudity rule on the forum?
Paul, What are you doing getting on the fourm at work?
-
It is a fine arts photography website so I would just assume there will be some nudes showing up, far less then I expect but fine art photography does include nudes and if it is offensive to those whom you work with I would suggest avoiding any thing has fine art in the title.

There's not a no nudity rule, but I just went to "photography.ca," the main home page to check the forum and there was an image on the main page which had a frontal nudity of a woman. I have no problem checking a forum in downtime at my office as a break during the day, and wouldn't do it with someone in the office, but it would just be nice to have it in a thread, not on the main home page where a picture comes up at random.

Ahhh, I see padrepaul77. You are talking about Laszlo's work Laszlo - photographer - Photography.ca
I thought you were talking about nude pix in threads. If that was the case, I could have easily added (nude image) to the thread title.
Although I like to accommodate as many people as possible, and I respect everyone's point of view, I find those nudes very tasteful. They are not in anyway pornographic imo and are the result of a photographer expressing his creativity.
If many other members find those images offensive to the point where they feel they should be removed, i invite you all to PM me or email me and I will consider it, but I do believe the vast majority of members have no issue with Laszlo's images. They are art, and this is a fine art photography website.
Hope you are okay with my explanation padrepaul77.
Thx in advance,
Marko

I can appreciate it, and still enjoy the site, and I do not think they are pornographic, but at the same time I think it's good to just be aware of them. I've viewed many nude paintings at art galleries for instance. My concern was simply that there are often other people around when one is online. I come to the site to look at images, and to get feedback, but certainly if someone walks by a computer and sees the image from a distance, they could get the wrong idea. Maybe I shouldn't hop on during downtime at the office, but it could make for an awkward situation to say the least. I'm probably alone, but my preference would be for anything with nudity, even if it's art, to be put in threads or in a place where one has a choice of viewing them rather than on the main home page where you don't really have a choice.
Thanks!
Paul

if you set your browser to go automatically to the forum page you can still access the blogs/podcasts etc. but no risk of naked women ;)
I like the nudes.

I think I'll just set my browser then go automatically bypass the homepage and go to the forums.
