I understand what you are going for, but (IMO) you are too close in. Do you have a shot further back that may include the store front?

I'm with AT here. It's well exposed, but the sign 'begs' for more context.

I'm wondering if I should have made the restaurant reference. I sometimes like the lack of context.

IMO, even if you didn't mention the restaurant, the sign (image) still lacks context. Even if you pulled way back and had someone walking from right to left in the image, so the sign was pointing at them

I'm always up for learning - I'd be curious to see more examples of this that work.
