I know this is not the crit section however you asked for opinions/thoughts so I'll throw my $0.02 in. :)
If it were me, I''d do a bit more cropping or re-shoot at a different angle. I think the focus should be on the tree and in the shot now, it looks like the focus is on the golf course. So I guess I find the background a bit busy taking away from the tree if that was what you were trying to go for as the focal point of the photo.
I also find the water at the bottom left distracting...not sure if it's some kind of movement such as a fountain or if it's an editing thing, but it doesn't seem to flow (no pun intended :)) with the rest of the water in the lake. :twocents:
I am thinking along the lines of Casil. The brightness from the sky and water really puts your eye to that side of the photo.
It looks like a realllly nice spot! That tree is awesome!
My attention is being drawn to the water. Something strange going on there.
Thanks all for the comments. I totally agree with you all. I will try and work on your suggestions. BTW the water has some kind of weed growing in it. And yes, it is rather distracting now that you mention it :)
Thanks for the compliment bossmanthe and welcome!
The tree looks awesome, and casil's comment is bang on imo.
Our eyes are mainly trained to read/view a picture from left to the right side. Give the picture a second try and mirror it horizontally - that will help.Quote:
