This lake was surrounded by the rare, (for us), Grass Pink Orchid. This Orchid differs itself from others as it is right side up. Most orchid blossoms turn as they grow so their lip is on the bottom, while these ones stay upright.

The best way to end the day was that the wild blueberries are just ripening, (had first feed today). We have approximately two acres of these on our land, but these were also around this lake area.

Beautiful set, HBGirl! The reflections in the lake are beautiful. Love all the wildflowers and those blueberries look pretty appetizing too!

Wonderful set of pictures - I like especially the Pitcher plant. That's a real strangely plant, have never seen any similar.

Somehow I second this - you are so blessed with your surroundings, Hillbillygirl, that's why envy rears its head. Absolutely stunning imagery, and now immortalized. But tell me something: did you take the GPS along to guide you there, to mark the spot, or to make sure you found your way back? Yes, we are truly blessed with the area we live in and I am glad so many enjoy seeing what I love to share, but then again, there are so many here that are equally blessed, as I have witnessed with many of their own "backyard" shots.
I will say, if any of you are going to be travelling up our way, be sure to contact us, as we would be more than happy to have ya's over for some redneck hospitality, and show ya 'round these parts.
Matt, as for the GPS,we never leave the doorstep without it. It is the most used tool we have ever had. It goes in car, in boat, in atv, on hikes, you name it. We actually came across this lake while touring down through the bush on an old two-track lane and noticed it off the side on the gps and our Backroads Mapbook. (another thing we never travel without, we have the whole Ontario set), and I will tell anyone that travels in Canada, (especially off the beaten path), to go out and purchase this for your area. It is an essential, as it tells all Major roads, backroads, logging roads, trails, lakes, streams, etc. and some very good detailed info for hiking, fishing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, skiing, you name it.
