Default The new addition to the family

    Hey All,
This guy has been keeping us busy at home for the past three months and a modeling for me! This was taken when he was a month old. Now, I need to select some pictures for print. Please C&C.

    Since you asked for C&C...

No problems with light, exposure, etc. (maybe a little more fill light on his face)

You grabbed the perfect expression on his face, which is the most important thing.

I just find the model looks to be in a weird position and is being swallowed by the orange blanket. I would shoot him from straight on instead of from his side. If he can sit up on his own, put him in a space void of everything except maybe his favorite toy. If he cannot sit up yet, hide something behind him to prop him up.

    ***Edit***

I gave the above critique after viewing on my phone. Now that I see it on my home computer, I see some more flaws. There is a ton of noise on his face like you over sharpened his face. the white balance seems off (or it is the orange blanket reflecting in his face. His eyes are not sharp. Looks like the point of focus is on his shirt.

Thanks theantiquetiger for your valid comments and advice.

I have noticed some of the points you mentioned. Unfortunately, as he was a month old at the time it was hard to get his expressions and I guess I liked the image for that but it's only one part of the puzzle . The blanket was a bit problematic too. I tried to subdue the effect as much as possible in PP, especially on his face.

as for critique AT gives some good advice. For me it's the oversharpened face - super cute expression though!
