My first impression is that the the girl is a little too dark compared to the lights.
Looks like you took a long exposure of the lights, and used a flash on the girl to freeze her. Also you used camera movement to squiggle the lights around a bit. Am I right, or did you do something different here?
it's quite interesting. She has a bit of a withdrawn look on her face that I don't like and I don't know what the blur is under her right arm.
But I love how she's framed by the lights and seems to be wrapped in them.
I like it Marko. Perhaps her face could be a tad brighter. It is unusual for a ballet (?) dancer to be portrayed with the bright framing such as this (often they are either high key and soft focus, or a black background), but this creative approach works for me.
Oooops, I almost gave a critique and you indicate to only give one if your photo is in the critique forum. Do you mind if I give you my honest impression.
Please go ahead with the honest impression - I asked for it in the post "Please feel free to comment on or critique any aspect of this image. thx!" :)
Keep 'em coming, Marko, those are fantastic.
Ok, here is the honest critique. To me the streaked colours on the top and sides don't seem to fit. They seem like they have been painted on top afterwards.
Appreciate the comments - no prob asnow. I might have to work on this one more to balance the dancer and the lights. The lights were not painted in though, they were shot with the model.
