Beaulieu At Night

Beaulieu, more commonly known as the Lougheed House was built in 1891 by Senator James Lougheed, grandfather to former Premier Peter Lougheed. It has had an illustrious career as the show piece home of the Lougheeds with a formal garden and carriage house, a training center for women, a women's military residence and was the home of the Red Cross for many years until the Red Cross building was built on the corner.
This is the east view just above the formal gardens. See that little green fence? That is the site of my fall with my D300 and 70-300 lens this summer. The D300 still has a scar but my bruises have healed. :)

Cool capture Raven. I like it. Beautiful subject. Nice composition and lighting. Wonderful drama in the clouds.
The crop at the top seems a bit tight, and there is a bit of noise in the clouds that I don't like so much.
There is a crane in the background on the right that looks out of place that I would consider removing. I'd also consider cropping a little from the left to remove the building in the background and the pillar which make it look like the building is leaning back.

Antz covered most of it. I'm less concerned about the crane (it's only really there if you look for it ;) ) but the noisy clouds really grab my eye. The other thing is the perspective distortion. The photo doesn't look straight to me. I seem to have this problem a lot when I'm shooting buildings as well. Maybe this would be a good idea for a podcast.
Other than that, it's a very nice photo of an interesting subject.

Think there is only so much you can do without a pc lens or a ladder, Iggy.

I really like this shot raiven - very striking!
The 2 things that bother my eye are the building sloping toward the right and the specular star highlight coming from the background building at mid-right. 'side from that - way cool and nice work!

A bit of a reworking. Sorry the noisy sky is intentional. Hope this looks straighter. :)

yes much straighter. I quite like this photo. The colours are fantastic and I like the sky. :)
-
It's straighter but the first one looks better to me in terms of colour and the levels. This one seems to be too bright now.
Were it mine I think I would have added some motion blur to the clouds to remove the noise (not sure why you would want it to have intentionally?) and create a sense of impending weather.
Love the first one for the clarity, colour etc. I agree with the crits offered for that first image also.

Thats better for sure. Cool work.

It's much better (though still slightly sloping toward the right) than the first. I agree with MA about the sky light being better in shot 1. The noise in the sky did not bother me but now that you say you added it intentionally, I have to wonder why.
