I'm not really sure what the experiment is. Could you please explain a little about this one please? I do like the photo though.
Basically I used a torch and brought some cellophane, I made a circle the size of the torch and stuck the circle of cellophane onto black cardboard, which had a circle cut into so that you could see the cellophane through the black cardboard. Then I opened the shutter for about 20-25". I then used the torch with the cellophane over it to 'paint' in Jen with the blue colour. It was late at night when I did this, which is why the background is really dark.
oh hey, that is really cool. Now I'm really liking this one :). Thanks for description. That's a wonderfully creative idea.
Yea I have never done it before, I got it explained to me in a course I'm doing at the moment and wanted to try it. So I asked my friend Jen to be my model one night so I could experiment with it. Worked well on her with the blue.
It's an interesting experimental portrait imo, not very flattering, but definitely interesting and has a creepy feel. Not boring, that's for sure. I like it!
I played with it a bit more, and made it a bit more blue in the face...not sure if it looks better or worse...I think I like the first one. What do you think?

This one I put a slight glamour blur on her.

I like the first one better, better light in the eyes/face.
Here's the glamour blur one, but i've brightened her face more.

Im a big fan of the glamour blur since my father showed me it (Mad Aussie).
I like the second best. The first has had too much dark parts on the arms and hair. The best part are the shadows and lights on the jeans.
But summa summarum: The blue colour isn't really flattering your model.
