Critique away please. I like this photo but at the same time I don't and can't quite figure out why.

I like this shot and the use of space, just lovely.
To improve I might suggest a 3% burn if the bright spot at top left in the flower has detail in the raw file. I might also suggest making the yellowy tip brighter/contrastier and a bit sharper.
This shot would also work as a cropped vertical imo.
Hope that helps

Love it for the simplicity and form
Thank Greg. I was worried it might be too simple. I do that alot.
Correct - IF there is detail to burn, burn it. You won't be able to recover anything in the raw file if it has no detail.Quote:
Or if there is detail then burn.
I can't add to Marko's suggestion. It's very nice as is Kat. I like the vignetting/shadow in the lower left very much as well. Without that I seriously feel the photo would be lacking. That shadow adds weight to the left and therefore makes the negative space even stronger.
This is the sort of photo I could not 'see' myself and therefore unlikely to take myself.
i think it's nearly perfect maybe you could accentuate that yellow a bit more make it pop and/or add some selective focusing to give it that sort of tilt/shift lens effect
Nice one Kat. I agree with Marko that if there is detail in the bright spot then burn it in. I agree with MA, that I like the shadow on the bottom left, and all have said a bit more saturation on the tip may improve the shot.
Alright. There wasn't much detail, just white but I tried the slight burn anyway and battled the saturation/lumin/hue button for the yellow.
Had to do it or it would of been forgotten. Thanks for the words! :thankyou:
