Prairie graineries

Saw these 5 wooden graineries sitting out on the prairie while on a trip out to Drumheller. I thought they looked kinda cool...would appreciate some C&C's please and thankyou! I pp'd #2 in sepia tone to try it out.

Here's one more....I spent awhile messing with different angles, settings etc.

Anybody...please have any ideas/thoughts/suggestions here? Know they are greatly appreciated...thanks a bunch! :)

I really like the first photo in the serires. I like the repetition of lines on the fence then the diagonal repition of the graineries. The snow and brown prairie grass make a nice contrast in texture and color. I also like the desaturated look of the whole thing. Ha! Ha! I tend to like things either desaturated or very vivid.

I like the second one the best. I would like to see more contrast in it to expand the tonal range. Perhaps burn the sky and dodge the clouds to give the top of the photo a little texture. My:twocents:

I'd like to see one from the angle of the 2nd shot with all 5 graneries.

For me the 2nd shot has the best composition. A landscape with all 5 in it would have been better again I think. That would have given a strong leading line across the rooftops.

Both shots 1 and 2 seem to lack contrast in a big way which robs you of the detail in the timber and grass.

Shot 3 has nice colour but is basically just a snapshot I think. Filling the frame with the buildings might have made this much stronger as the eye would travel across the buildings from frame to frame, we'd see more detail, less grass, and not be left looking at the bland horizon.

I notice that the horizon's aren't level either although it could actually be correct. I can't tell if the land is level there or not.

I think the composition of the 3 shots is okay but all three treatments look 'off' with regard to their colour. They look more like paintings. Shot 2 has an etching quality to it. Although it could use a contrast boost, shot 1 is my fave of the 3.

Here's one more from yet another different angle. I tried to adjust the tone a bit more in post, but it's really hard for me as I don't have photoshop yet and Picassa really limits what I can do in PP. PShop is on backorder at SAIT right now so I'm in waiting mode... :(
I really want to make these right as I thinK they have a lot of potential :)
