Both very nice shots. Love the mist in number one, and number two has a vintage feel to it. Great use of BW.
Both are interesting compositions for me. These scenes are both a bit light in contrast. That might have been creative choice and if so they work.
For my taste and eye though, these could sing louder or with more contrast.
Very nice. I hear what Marko is saying, but I quite like the "silvery" effect produced, particularly in shot 2
I like the comp of the first one. Trying to decide what I think about the mist - I can see what HBG means by "silvery". It does get my attention.
Wonderful images. Love the steam in shot 1 and the detail in shot 2.
I think I differ from Marko on these. I quite like the current amount of contrast and that "silvery" look. Like the mist in the first one and the stark detail in the second one.
Great detail in both of these, and nice scenery. Personally I would have preferred a little more contrast, although I can see the appeal of the 'silvery' look.
Very nice Michael. Love the first one, the mist rising is dynomite ....
Very nicely done on both, but leaning towards #1 as a fav. Really like the lighting in this one.
As far as contrast is concerned. From my eye, and experience in this light/scene, these could not look any more correct than if you were actually standing there. That hazy light from the sun from the moisture in the air, along with the reflection of sun off the water is just perfectly exposed for my taste.
BUT, then again, I can see where others would like to see a little more "pop" in these. Each individual has different tastes, and most do like a little more contrasty shots to make a certain part of the scene grab the eye for attention.
