Nice pic. Like how the trees fade up into the fog. Great mood.
The mood is there! Great shot!
Very nice capture, Matt. So desolate and cold looking.
Lovely and simple. I think it could use a touch of contrast though.
Hey, Matt, welcome back! Nice shot (I agree about the contrast), but I want to see one of you sledding down the hill :)
Cool capture... snow and fog - kinda reminds me of Halifax :)
I do like the desolate feeling of this one though...nicely spotted.
Matt, with the overcast and snow this photo WB comes up very blue on the computer I'm using right now so maybe some others could comment. (i'm in calgary and don't have access to my own screen which is better than the laptop here)
I love this, my eye immediatly goes to that fallen tree.
Thank you all for your kind words, much appreciated.
As for the blue-ish tint: this is a black and white image, and it shows fine on my monitor, so I am wondering if it might be a calibration problem? I just bought a brand new monitor, a Dell 27" Ultrasharp, in order to have my images a bit more balanced and calibrated. But if my monitor should be out of calibration, I would like to know.
I have also tried to add more contrast to the image, and I find it looses the mood; I kinda like the softness of the grays, without a pure white and pure black in it. If one were to over emphasize the contrast a different, more 'harsh' looking image would be created.
But this is just my opinion.
Loses the mood. Loses.
And if you like it, and it fulfills your vision that's all that matters.
love the comp and mood to this Matt
I'm with Iggy. Love the way the trees fade away in the fog. I also like the mood that the softness gives. Not sure (as the others said) that it would lose the mood with more contrast.
Also, I don't have an expensive monitor, but it is calibrated. There is no blue tinge on my monitor.
That it is for sure! I love these shots!! :)
