Some time (30 second) exposures near the river. Quite noisy, but reminders of how still it was last night. Opposite of the assignment LOL.

I like what you were trying to do with these, it's a shame they turned out with so much noise in them. What were your EXIF settings on these?

Thanks for the response. First shot was 24 mm, 30 sec at f/8, ISO 500. Second shot 60mm, 30 sec at f/9, ISO 500. The high ISO explains the noise. I didn't use the camera settings to reduce noise at all and made minimal effort in Photoshop to do so. I 'd appreciate any tips.

I would say the ISO 500 is what produced the noise. Generally, you use a high ISO to give yourself the ability to capture something quickly in relatively low light. If you are going to expose for 30 seconds, you would be better to expose for a longer time with a lower ISO thereby reducing the noise. Sticking around f8/f11 is a reasonable f-stop for a landscape and should produce a relatively sharp image depending upon the lens of course.
