Photo Organisation, Search, and Explore

I've released a new version of DBGallery last week. Significant improvements include:
- Excellent read and write support for IPTC/XMP data.
- A greatly improved thumbnail view window.
- Four QuickInfo cards instead of just one.
- A data field history window.

They are all listed on the recent updates (http://grrsystems.com/DBGallery/RecentUpdates.htm) page, most with a screenshot for a quick look.

What this software does is allow you to search based on existing Exif and IPTC data, or data keyed via DBGallery, generate reports, create buckets of photos, easily find and send photos via email, track stock agency sales, any many other goodies useful to people like those on this forum. Can I use it to be a search based on keywords (or whatever) and then have the software tell me that full size image I want is on DVD # 23 (as an example).

Does it create a data base of images on removable media?? I guess that is my real quetion

Yes it does! By dropping photos onto the Offline drop area you are prompted for and Volume, Keywords, and Notes fields (as well as the size the local photo). In Notes you could put something like where you stored the DVD. Then when a photo is viewed the Offline tab displays the Volume (DVD #23 in your example), Keyword, and Notes info. Press the "View Offline" button and if DVD #23 isn't in your drive it will prompt you for it.
