I must go down to the sea again,
to the lonely sea and the sky...
and all I ask is a tall ship,
and a star to steer her by...
- John Masefield

the weather was pretty crappy, so there wasn't much contrast or color, but it was better than yesterday, and i was at least able to catch a couple of half-decent shots of Lady Washington and her companion ship, Hawaiian Chieftain, out in Possession Sound this afternoon... 40D, 100-400 @ 400mm, 1/1000 @ f/8...

Haven't seen a tall ship in years. I think these pictures actually look pretty good. Are the ships going to be around a bit longer?

that first one is great. Tallships are at our coast right now and come about once a year. I used to watch them from the island I worked on as they came into harbor. There are a few shots in my flickr stream, but none as nice as these.
