Two wonderful shots. When you "Yank them off the sidewalk" is it into a studio with street front signs or are these people coming into your home?? :eek:

I have a store front studio in the heart of downtown PA, that's Port Angeleeeeees, WA for you out of town folks. ;-)

Here's a webcam: Port Angeles Inn, downtown Port Angeles Washington (http://www.portangelesinn.com/webcam.html)

If you notice the photo on the top, far left buildings, the lst building has a red truck sitting in front of it and then you see to black cars and two silver cars, that's where you'll find my studio. Up the street is our Coho Ferry Dock, this Ferry travels over to Victoria BC.

I've been loving your 'yank off the streets' photos- you really seem to catch who they are.

but how do you convince them? :shrug:

I'm Totally digging them as well. I'd be willing to bet that the answer is simple. There's no convincing needed - many (likely the majority)people are more than willing to be photographed, all you need to do is ask! ...and when you do, they are flattered and willing for the most part. (If I'm way off base Ernst - please feel free to tell me so).

Nice shots - I especially like the cala lillies here.

Your right on the money Marko. The last girl was checking out my display window and I just went outside, introduce myself and asked her to step inside for a quick portrait and of course they get a FREE 8X. Printed on my Epson 3800 and using Hannemuhle Fine Art Paper.

Awesome! :thumbup::thumbup:

That really hasn't been my experience. Everyone I know gets cranky whenever I point the camera at them. Maybe I need to shower more often? ;)

Funny, I run into the same problem. I like to catch people candidly, and this makes it hard to get a great shot. So far I never had the nerve to ask someone to pose (but then again, I don't have a studio or a decent printer, either)

Very cool concept and great work too.

That's because what you guys are doing is 100% different. Ernst is asking first. You don't legally need to ask but people will be way more receptive if you do. (sorry for the threadjack)

Those are two great shots.

I enjoy the one with the flowers, there's something about its simplicity that makes it so captivating.

Thanks for the post.

Cheers.
