i'd like to see camera manufacturers to add a circuit or gadget that will brighten the view finder when you press the dof button, specially at the smallest aperture to see the effect:clap:

Not sure how they would do it through the view finder, but it would be easy in "Live View"...and a great idea.

Not sure if/how that could be done....but I agree it would be useful. When you press that button and look through the viewfinder you are looking at the scene through the chosen F-stop. If the F-stop is small, it's normal for the scene to be dark.
IMO, DOF preview button is fairly useless unless you are shooting outdoors in the daytime.
