Starting with a Corsair, a Skyraider, and a TBF Avenger. This was done with a much older camera, so the shots aren't the greatest. They were taken at an airshow featuring WWII Navy planes at the local air museum. Warhawk Air Museum, Nampa, Idaho (http://www.warhawkairmuseum.org/)

The Corsair was one of the stars of the TV show "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep" in the 1970s.

Another airshow featuring the P-51 Mustang. I don't get "on the deck" shots anymore, because the airport complained.

Straw Boss II, a plane Mike is intimately familiar with. It's a P-51 Mustang. It's a club plane based in Hollister, CA. He was a member for several years. During one of the maintenance cycles he rewired the airplane. The fellow who flew the plane the plane to the show was the man who originally got him in the club. They hadn't seen each other in 13 years. It was a mutual "What are you doing in Idaho?" moment.

One of the greatest fighters from WW2 ... the P51 ... the fastest of all I think.

And the TBF Avenger ... FLight 19 right? :)

Thanks, all. I'm still amazed I got some of the stuff I did, between the camera and the bright sun. I'm still going through airshow pictures. You all have to let me know when you get sick of them.

Yes, MA, you're correct about Flight 19. Lost in the Bermuda Triangle (for those who don't know the Flight 19 reference). Thoughtfully returned by the aliens from Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

The P-51 was probably the longest range single engine fighter of the war, which makes it one of the greatest. It was an excellent escort fighter.
