The board slipped out of frame a little bit but i think it turned out pretty well

i don't think that the board slipping out of the frame is a huge problem, but it did seem as though there was a fair amount of camera noise in the sky

Nope, agree, there's nothing wrong with the board (or anything else) in the composition of this image. What is bothering me however is the skin tones. I suspect that your white balance is set just a little too warm. I recommend double-checking that and maybe doing some test shots on a person in bright sun just to tweak it a little; his skin is almost bright red/orange in spots.
All that aside, REALLY good capture! :highfive:

Ooopsss... my mistake. Did you do any post-processing to the scanned images?

this shot i had processed directly to cd, i did do a small amount of cropping to remove the top of some kids head at the bottom, other than that no

Sometimes saving as a jpeg will introduce stuff that's not in the original file.
This is a fantastic capture!
Skin is a bit red - but that's it and it's easily corrected.

Looks good to me...
If I were to nit pick I would rather have the whole board in.... and the top of the tree out... but the shot is still strong....
IMO I don't really see a skin problem... it's most likely red because he's been in the sun skateboarding all day with a 120bpm heart rate... but... the posters mentioning it are much more senior in photography than me so you may want to pay attention to it...

Have to agree with Kiley; without the tree you would have no sense of scale for the image. In this case, even though he may only be six inches off the ground, the perspective with the tree gives the impression that he is actually very high.

really?? I suppose that could be argued but, I think the OP has done a great job showing perspective simply by the angle. When I crudely clone out the tree (with my fingers) it still looks like he's way up... I just don't like how the tree hogs the center of the frame... maybe if it was left of frame...
either way... just my :twocents:

I tried to get the tree out of the shot as best i could and the board in, but some times the trick doesnt happen right were you want it to. To get that angle i had to lay down on the ferature that he was tricking off and angle the camera (and my head, boy my heart got pumping) up underneath him as soon as he hit the air. I really impressed myself with this one!
The trick was a hardflip if i remember correctly.
