Well I just got back from my little minication/photo tour to Banff with our dear friend and fellow Ph.ca member Bambi. LOL! be forewarned there will be many shots to come, a few of which I will start with by posting...I will add to this thread as I go as my version of our trip so feel free to check back if you like for new shots. I'm sure Bambi will add to her own thread when she returns on Saturday....We had a great time and it was neat to show her around the places both me and my other dear friend Terry like to shoot. And even better to see her snapping away with her camera and smiling at the same time! :grouphug:

These are takes from the Morely Church site a few hundred feet down the trail... I took the church shots about a month ago but when I saw the light off the river i literally ran down there to catch these shots. I couldn't believe the sunlight through the clouds and shining on the beautiful Bow River....:highfive:

Thank you WD. :)
Here 's another one I took at the same church...I shot this then saw the river and started heading th the river hopefully before the sun his behind the clouds again!....
It was snowing and the sun peeked through the snow clouds....

they remind me of some photos I took this winter - a frozen field with grass and snow, watery sunlight and clouds and bare trees. Very similar. I can relate.

Awesome light indeed. And well captured. Is that 2nd one a B&W conversion or is that how bleak it really looked?

Thanks
MA...it is a BW conversion but it really is how bleak it looked. I had to really up the structure to get any kind of cloud detail!
I will give you an example shortly of the bleakness...lol! I took a shot a month ago and if it weren't for the same tree you would have never guessed it was the same place.
