Maybe kind of an elementary or silly question but here goes. I do my own printing and I have a Canon pro9500 that uses ink pigments not dyes. I always print my "arty" stuff on Hahnemuhle paper of some sort. But I am wondering about having your fine art B&W's printed up on silver halide paper using wet processing? Maybe they do it anyway and I just never thought about it?

I know of 1 pro lab in Montreal that uses a wet process to print on traditional silver halide photo paper. It's very very expensive.

Unless you are talking high end Fibre based silver halide paper (which looks and feels amazing but is a huge time investment) Your high end Hahnemuhle paper will feel superior.

HOWEVER....if you have already printed something and want it on photo paper...you can photograph the print using a film camera and send it to a lab that prints silver halide on Fibre based paper. :twocents: (I've done this before...if the print is flawless it will photograph well so long as the print is well lit, flat, and the camera is perfectly parallel to the print.....I used to do this by taping the print to a flat wall and making sure the camera was perfectly level.....use a normal(ish) lens and a LOW iso)
