After mumblty-mumble years, my husband climbed back into a Pitts Special. He may come back to earth in, oh, two or three days.

This is a dual control plane, and a newer, larger model than the one Mike owned. So the instructor went over what maneuvers he planned to put Mike through, and used a visual aid to show what to expect. Refreshers are always good!

They were off the ground pretty quickly, and it's too small a plane to get much with so short a lens, but this one isn't too bad.

Back on the ground. Just look at that grin

Once the plane was refueled, the instructor pushed it to the side, and we had lunch with lots of hangar flying. Several pilots joined us.

The most terrifying part was when we got home. The neighbor was taking his 1931 Ford Model A Victoria out for a test drive. The brakes need work. Even with the emergency brake, it didn't stop easily. It only quit on Mike once.

Yeah, I'm getting caught up. I have more - I was in the maintenance hangar again, among other places - but I'll probably do those tomorrow. Glad you liked the story.

Cool series! I know nothing about planes but it's so colorful it makes a very pretty subject to photograph. Lol, two sweet rides in one day!

I am totally jealous. I would love to go up in a small plane! My favourite is when he's giving you the thumbs up. That grin is wonderful!!!

Well, Bambi, there should be a small airport around your neck of the woods, right? All it costs is a bit of cash.:)

It was a great afternoon, even if I did have more pictures than expected to wade through. He liked the flight so much that he's planning on doing it again very soon.
