A shot looking over the suburbs towards the mountain range near where I live.
For those who looked at my 'Looking Home' thread ... you might remember me mentioning a small white dot that was a water tower? Well these shots were taken within a few hundred metres of that tower.

Another one without the suburb visible

Stunning landscape and sky, I think I like the one with the suburb visible more. This would be a great place to get a shot of a nice dusk sky with all the house lights on.

I like the suburb visible as well. It's a lovely neighbourhood under a blanket of purple.

Just lovely, MA. I too am drawn to the one with the houses. I think it's the voyeur in me realizing that each of those homes has someone in it going about their business, eating, watching TV, etc. Richard's idea would definitely intensify that feeling.

I also vote for the first one. The sky's colors are a bit stronger, especially the touch of red. Works well.

I'm torn myself. I like the less cluttered look of the 2nd one but I am partial to strong shadow and silhouette shots. I think the 1st gives more for the eye to look at though.
Thanks all.

I like the first one as there is more to view of the different colored roof tops. It compliments the purple colors of the sky. The second one seems to have too much black. If the houses were light up it would be much better.
