With NASA's plans to retire it's aging Space Shuttle fleet in mind, a group of enterprising (and just a tad “redneck”) investors from Riegelwood, North Carolina are exploring alternative methods of getting freight and supplies into space.

It's a great way to empty the truck though. After climbing into the back of a dump truck to shovel shavings out, I can see the attraction of this set up :)

Isn't it easier to use trucks that lift up their own trailers? I've never seen such a contraption. Maybe we do have them but I haven't noticed.
