They are neat birds. Somtimes one joins the robins for a root around the lawn.

Beautiful, sharp pic's of the Red Shafted Northern Flicker Greg. They are quite nervous birds and definitely a good catch. We always seem to get the yellow shafted's around here.(they have the black whisker and red nape on back of neck)
