The lighting has an interesting effect with some saturation and added warmth. The shadows however cut off the end of the petals particularly at the top left. Some bright white spots off the flower at the bottom and left need to be cloned out in post, as well as two white areas directly at the bottom of the plant.
Using a reflector at the front or a small amount of fill flash might have made the lighting/exposure a little more in the front central area.

This is an interesting shot for sure but like tegan suggested the white spots are distracting. If this were my shot I'd clone them out and/or tone them way down.

i expected it to be very dark and not so visible

You should be able to fix that in photoshop, I think it is just a minor issue. Some photos just need a bit of post processing to get them as good of shots as they can be. I think it is a great idea, just a bit more work to finish it.
