I've been doing a world tour of free 30 day editing program trials...

so far have tried

gimp (free)
ps elements
nikons CaptureNX
nikons CaptureNX2
and currently paintshoppro2

so far I like the paintshop best for ease of use and good results.... just thought i'd share...

so many more to try..... i wonder if i'll ever have to purchase software... all I need is 12 programs that release new versions yearly so I can sample the 30 day trials...lol...

in ten years i'll be jack of all editing programs... master of none...

I agree. PaintShop Pro is quite fast and easy to use. I would suggest that you try Viveza by Nik Software next.

If you're going to lay down some money, I would go with PSP X2 - for what it can do, it's an excellent value, and also compatible with almost all Photoshop plugins.

I think it might do so.... I'm not huge into editing CS3 style.... PSPX2 is well done...
