View Full Version : Cropped version of one of my gull shots

MAW's shot of the gulls head gave me the idea to revisit my gull in profile shot from earlier and see what cropping and a little vignetting would produce.

Nice sharp shot, Ed. Love that red eyeliner, even if it is a seagull. :)

Wow...well done Ed! :)
Nice shot! It's very sharp. And there's catchlight in the bird's eye too which is very nice. The bokeh is interesting, very sparklely. Did you use fill flash?
Also, may I ask what camera and lens you were using?
Thanks all, no fill flash masp and the lens is a Nikkor AFS VR 70-300 f4.5-5.6 ED-IF. Catchlight was most likely produced by the sun or a reflection off some of the snow higher up behind me as I was standing on the frozen pond with the birds. Sparkle in the bokeh was from the snow/ice.
