Hi All,

After seeing Marko's self-portrait I was inspired to try and recreate it with my new camera. I have put it through PS and altered lots of settings including: levels, curves, saturation, filter, and a slight split tone. I would really like some feedback on this one.

Hi Dan,

This a a very moody portrait and I really like it.

My only comment would be that there is no light in the eyes whatsoever. This may actually add to the mood in this case. If this was your intent then it worked. Normally though, we want some light in the eyes, even if it's just a touch. I might also crop this a wee bit on the top.

Aside from that though, or even including those comments, this is a VERY strong portrait. Marko

this is a great photo! i love the softness of the curves in the shirt - great lighting & texture on the skin. the dark eyes are very interesting, and marko poses a good thought with if it adds to the effect of the mood. i also 2nd the cropping of the top. good job dan!

He looks much better with his eyes shown and bright as well as better exposure overall. Shadows do not need to be totally lacking in detail in order to be effective and moody.
