A few more shots of the Erie Canal from the past couple days. Water levels are rising, spring is on its way!

Cool stuff, JJ. I particularily like the B&W with the aqueduct.

The series is so varied it helps to give a fuller conception of what the canal is like for those of us who have never seen it. The first shot is especially surprising and well put together. That reflection of sky and tree just makes it. thanks for posting.

These are all great but I think the 1st one with the reflection grabs me the most!
1 and 3 for me- nice captures

very very nice set JJ!:highfive: Shot 1 for me. I know it's not critique...but a burn around the top part of the arch will make this singing shot sing even louder.
Hope that helps- Marko

Here is a landscape view of the image I posted in the critique thread. All part of the canal still.
There are other versions/edits of these images on my flickr site as well. Thank you for your kind comments. Havent been out in a while to concentrate on this stuff. Good to know I can still do this.
Wonderful JJ. I like the framing and colour in the 1st pic.

I think I'd nominate it if not for the twigs in the foreground. Great exposure on the water cascading down though! Love the field of view through the tunnel.

Wow, that really stinks. I never noticed that. It probably isnt the most ethical way of taking pictures, but I cut out quite a few twigs from the ground. This part of the canal is poorly trimmed and it was the only way to get the picture. My camera was on a small tripod on the rocks you see in the bottom corner. I thought I got them all but apparently not. Now that I think about it, I was probably sitting on those twigs holding them out in front of the camera. Ill try it again, and again, and again, and probably still mess it up.

it's a great shot. The twigs are a bit of an annoyance, can you clone them out?

Pruning is a requirement of photography  It's a lovely shot though:thumbup:

Ok, hopefully this is good enough for MA. Thanks for the suggestion Bambi, I probably would have just gone back and retaken the shot. This does save some time.

I like the last as well. Lots of texture and the view through the aqeduct is really cool.

Certainly a big improvement I think.

Thx. I really didnt notice that until you pointed it out. After you did it was a nagging nuance I coudlnt get rid of until Bambi suggested cloning it out. Not really used to that kind of PP. I really prefer images without that kind of work.

In that particular case, the cloning is just correcting something you didn't do at the time.
