Well, made it down to the river and got there just in time to watch a mature eagle take off from the tree right across from us that got spooked by people on trail under her.
Stuck around and watched the tundra swans, goldeneyes, mallards, mergansers, and hundreds of geese for awhile, but no more eagles, but wow, what a beautiful clear sunny day.
Went down to a new spot and took a walk. Talking to a lady out walking her dog and then an immature baldy flies by at a distance as we watched with binoculars.
Got in car, went to another hot-spot and hiked in for approx. 30 minutes and "Jackpot", immature flies right upriver from us and then big mature baldy comes right at us and makes two large circles directly overhead.
Couldn't have asked for a better moment to end the day. Just an amazingly majestic specimen they are, up close, and in a natural setting.
