After seeing the banner at the top of this forum's webpage I clicked on it because it looked interesting. And I checked out the wix.com site a little and quite liked the look of some of the templates. Very slick. But before I did enough digging to really understand how it all worked, I clicked on a "edit" or "Make this your own" button or something like that on one of the "free" templates and it asked me to sign in or join. I clicked on the terms link and although my lawyer-speak is weak at best, they seemed sorta intimidating. And my old "if it seems too good to be true...." sense kicked in and I chickened out.

Anyone used this service to build a site or play around with it to any extent?

Well I think people should start to move away from flash for their websites and galleries. More and more OS's are not supporting Flash, the new iPad, iPhone, iTouch, any Android based Phone or Netbook, etc. and a lot of people are now installing Flash blockers because of those awful Flash ads and it seems that more and more it is becoming an issue. I do not think Flash will be going anywhere anytime soon but seems to be enough of a movement that as I start to redo my sites I am moving away from flash. HTML5 and H.264 are going to be the way people stream video and other previous Flash based uses. So I like to be ahead of the curve and both sites I currently have and the two new ones I will be developing over the coming months will have no Flash at all. Just something to think about. I am not on the ball this morning or I would go into all the other reasons to move away from Flash but it would be a novelette lol. I used to do flash movies and was an avid flash user, but it is time for it to go.

I hate Flash and find people waste way way way too much effort and cash putting flash websites together. Plus flash sucks if you want to be found in search engines.
