My daughter is taking a photography class in art college. she was given an older 35 mm camera (a pentax actually) and a roll of film. she asked me to assist so I drove in to Halifax today and we walked around downtown. I make no claims of expertise but I was able to share with her my enjoyment and talk to her about basic photography concepts such as leading lines, rule of thirds, what you leave out is as important as what you put in. She told me that I made photography fun and that she learned a lot

We had lunch and then went to the IMAX to see Avatar (what a movie!).

All in all a lovely day. Here's my girl :)

:) So nice you could share your knowledge with someone and excite them about photography. Helps you build confidence that you, indeed do know, something about what you are talking of. Even nicer it was your daugther ... I know what that feels like :)

Very cool and thanks for sharing. I betcha you hadn't realized how much you've learned until you took it upon yourself to help someone else. It's an amazing feeling.
