So I'm driving a new route (looking to take photos) and I spot this off the road. Not something you see every day here -42 probably sees lots of them:

Interesting. I had no idea we had any windmills like that in NS. That one looks a little old though ;) I think you were brave to stand underneath it!

thanks Iggy. Definitely a place I'll be returning too. I saw footprints in the snow going to it too, so I think that I was not the only person with a camera taking shots!

Cool windmill, very old world. Might make an anchor for a more pastoral type landscape as well some closer crops as well.

Try a 'Replace Colour' tool in PS (I think elements has it) or similar and take that pink out and you have a beauty there!
Bambi

Another way to fix it ...
Make a duplicate layer ... desaturate the bottom layer to remove all colour ... then add layer mask to the top layer (the coloured one) and paint black on the mask which will allow the desaturated pink cloud through ... except it will be grey and not pink.

Much better now!
You might even try some burning in for those clouds ... could make it look almost stormy.

Ummm ... looks more like you used a curves tool than burning now as the whole photo is darker. If you'd used a Burn tool only on the clouds then the windmill, snow and trees would still be nice and bright like before.

yes, you caught me!! every time I try to burn large areas they look like crap! But I'll try :)

You can't fool me ;)
Set the Burn tool on midtones (it'll ignore the brighter areas and the very dark areas) at about 6% and use a large-ish brush. Brush each section of cloud a few times until it's looking about what you want.

yeah, I don't even know why I would try  but I kinda like the darker windmill too. I will try these suggestions.

Nope ... think it's 7 or 21 times ... not sure :)
There's still bit of pinkness in those two spots but the clouds look more dominant now.
It doesn't matter how much you play around there's always some clown out there that will say "You know ... if you did this ... bladdy bladdy bla bla" ;)
That's the subjectivity of photography :)
