This is a shot from around town where the foliage has overgrown the streetlight pole and no one has done anything about it. I have taken a few different pics of this one but I am always leaning towards a black and white version. I think the conversion went well. Any help in that area would be great.

Holy crap! If you crop out the bottom half it looks like a monster!

I won't comment on the B&W too much because I'm not confident in that area myself but do think it could use some more contrast. I wouldn't be afriad to really experiment with adding plenty and see what it does.

I reckon, with that wide angle lens you have there, a shot from near the base looking up would be cool too!

It looks like a giant scarecrow. Neat!

Great monster catch ;) - I guess, the s/w treatment works well with it!:highfive:

Cool image. I like the monster appeal and I too would really like to see a shot from the base of the pole.

Cool image. MA is right, it could definitely use some more contrast, still a little mid-tone rich. A neat image, and I see HUGE potential in this one as a night shot using a couple of strobes, maybe snooting the the key light onto the area where the light joins the pole at the top, and then a couple of big soft-boxes or reflecting umbrellas to provide scene illumination.
