Tommorowstreasures and her Trumpet Player from this thread ... http://www.photography.ca/Forums/f21/trumpet-player-6533.html
Very good, subtle, low key lighting. And a rarity for me ... nominating a B&W shot ... not sure I've ever done that before.

Thanks for posting this thread MA - and nice choices so far everyone!
Not sure I'd call that trumpet player shot Hi key though, for me it's 100% the opposite, it's totally low key...and has a great mood.

In my view, the overall quality of the photographs that have been nominated in this thread far surpasses any we’ve seen up to this point. That’s not to say that there aren’t any great images posted in the older threads, but to say that each and everyone of these are “above the norm” in subject, composition, and exposure. That tells me that we are becoming a little more discriminating in our nominations, as we should be, and that we are seeing big improvements in the abilities of our older members and that our newer members are bringing with them talents that we can all learn from. I don't envy the the one who must choose the selections for voting this month!

It’s a pleasure to post and view on photography.ca. Oh, and thanks to Raiven and TT for the noms.

I've thought similar things for the past couple of months actually.

I think Chantelle has to choose this time as winner of the Admin Choice? If so, then my shots probably should be dis-included seeing as she is my daughter. That's fine of course :)

Oh thanks Casil ... didn't see those Beemers up there!

And I'm going to nominate a Raiven shot now from this thread http://www.photography.ca/Forums/f2/another-sunset-bow-river-another-hdr-6763.html#post47395 ... she's been working on her HDR Merge and came up with this beauty. Not over done and retains the essential elements I feel this scene needs like the deeper shadows that should be there at twilight.

Thanks K-Bob :)

Here's how to post someone elses pic ..

Right click the photo and hit 'Properties'

Copy the URL including the http etc (called Location in Firefox)

Hit Post Reply to make your post and hit the square icon/button called 'Insert Image' (looks like two mountains in yellow box) and then paste that URL in and hit 'Ok'

Done ... you'll see it as the URL but in between two IMG tags. Once you finish your post it will show the photo.
