Been watching the very new blooms on the bottlebrush tree on our fence line and wondering how long before the Rainbow Lorikeets start ripping into them. Not long.
I have two logs buried in the yard, both are hollow at the tops and I put seed into them which the Turtle Doves love.
This is the first time a Rainbow Lorikeet has bothered to leave the blooms and eat the seed off the logs.
Had a quick feed on the higher log and now eyes me off before deciding the seed on the lower log might taste better ...

Down on the lower log ... another check to make sure I'm not stalking him. You can see a stalk of seed that has grown from my seeds.

No longer concerned with me and the camera
