A very good article on why RAW is good choice to use for most of those who do photography in any capacity and why they should take RAW into consideration. I only ever shoot in RAW but others may not so here is another reason to consider using it.

Thanks AL. Some good points there. The point about improvements in software making the more of RAW files is a good one. The new ACR in Lightroom 3 makes such a difference in processing that you can decide which you use for images processed in LR2. New images automatically use the new ACR processing. I have heard it is a significant improvement.

Thanks for the info. I've been shooting RAW for a while. Not 100% sure why as I don't really notice much of a difference. I used Picasa and it opens them up just like a JPG. It takes a couple of extra seconds to render the RAW but I can browse them just like JPGs and as soon as I upload the web or export it does a quick convert to JPG.
I figure they're a bit like a digital negative so I figure it's better for what I might do in the future... which is exactly the type of thing the article suggests.
