I've been getting some positive reponses about this photo and thought it was time to find out what the pros think.
Just some background deets:
- Tri-x 400 (pushed to 1600? if I remember correctly)
- D76(1:1)
This was in Central Park, I had a small window where there was no one around and manage to grab this shot.

Nice capture! I like this, 'though I think I might be tempted to crop more tightly on the arches. The black space around doesn't add much IMO. I'm curious though, why a 400% push with D76 as opposed to Xtol or similar?

thanks tirediron! I played around with the cropping a bit but just couldn't find that sweet spot, if you know what I mean. The D76 was mainly for budget reasons, I rarely push film and D76 was what I already had so that's what I used.

I like the mood here!
I agree with T.I.'s suggestion on the crop, I'd totally try it to see if it works.
I like the person in the midground, I just wish they weren't so centrally located. Hope that helps - Marko

That was my first thought too, but on reflection, I think with the symetry of the arches and the stairs, the central positioning of the subject actually works here.

Makes sense.

I think your instinct was correct :p
The model is almost posing here and this is not a 'posey' shot. Had she been walking up or down the stairs a bit to the right or the left of her current position, this shot would be considerably stronger imo.
