So, it's no secret that I joined this forum mostly to get my photos critiqued in order to improve my work. I think most of my pictures will end up in this area of the forum!

What say you, all?

Great color indeed! Depth of field and your framing definitely enhance all of that!

I like it :)

Hmmm... I'm actually seeing two different photos here. The first is a tight crop on the small group of leaves in the foreground to elimate the distractions of the softly-focused background, with maybe just some minor brightening/saturation tweaks, and the second is the background itself. Other than the spiderweb running through the middle just below the half-way point, it's got a wonderful abstract, almost painting-like quality to it.

Another nice shot here Hodaka.

For me I think it needs some tweaking in the curves/levels department to make the focused group of leaves pop out just a little more.

Nice capture. To me, the background has some highlights which pull my eye away from the nice photo of the leaves. If you could burn/darken those highlights it would be absolutely wonderful.

I think you could try some other hour of the day, maybe the golden hour, sunset, for a warmer color

Thanks all. I got there just a little late for optimum color, but it was overcast so I thought I'd try it anyways.
I agree about the background being a little distracting, but when viewed on my 20" iMac from a few feet away (as a print on the wall would be), it looks great - one of my wife's faves. (and the wife acceptability factor means a lot here).
I may go back to the spot when I have different light.
