Thought I would submit a cityscape, for a change, from the mid 70's & the only text is in the photo.

Probably an over-compensation ;)
Unfortunately with images this small it makes it impossible to actually give much comment as we can't see details.
I find around the 700 - 800 pixels on the long side is plenty. You might try only 600 if you are very worried.

I like the lines shapes and subdued colour of the background. Could be a bit sharper though. Hope that helps - Marko

Look at those prices!!! :)

I can't tell if the "steps" are painted on the wall or are there but if they are painted..too cool!

Nice lines

That resize makes it much better for us to comment ... thank web44.

I didn't realise those stairs in the background were painted on an old wall :) Cool.

How old is that parking lot? It cost me anything from $25 to $40 to park in Brisbane City if I use a parking lot. If I'm there at 5am I can get some meter parking for the day just outside the CBD and walk in at about $8 - $11.

I took the shot in the mid 70's, I don't think it survived the wrecking ball, much past that, but was a going concern in the early 70's, glad you liked it, almost a historical piece of Mtl.

seriously -you don't know???
well allow me to provide today's lecture:

'Bluenoser' is used to refer to residents of Nova Scotia. Popular belief is that is comes from the Schooner 'The Bluenose' which was a famous fishing schooner and never lost a race. It's on the Canadian dime but that's a different lecture and I must not digress ;).

the term bluenoser actually came from fishermen. they had knit blue mittens and when they rubbed their noses when out to see the dye came out of the mittens and onto their noses.

there aren't you glad you asked. Of course our noses are not blue anymore....

Nope ... didn't know that. Not something very important to know in Australia I guess ;)

Good to hear it's not derived from some strange habit of sticking your nose somewhere weird at least!

I had heard of the Schooner (think it's the same) because someone here had mentioned that once before.

lol no I guess it's not important in Brisbane. If you come here though that wee bit of knowledge might come in handy :)

Nice capture. If you want to improve more you can add some contrast and warm up teh colors a bit. Maybe tweaking a bit the white balance
