Well, i finally bit the bullet and purchased a calibrator. Why? On my monitor, the colors were vivid and beautiful and just how i like them!!! Knowing full well that the calibration can be an issue, i thought no biggie. I was always comparing what came out of the lab with my monitor. They seemed to be pretty close. I was not too concerned.
Now, I am using a new pro color lab for my prints. I got my order in, looked at them and was really, really disappointed. They were really grey. UCK.
I calibrated the monitor tonight with the newly purchased unit. (I chose the i1display2 by x-rite -it has a dummy mode on it!) Now, every thing is greyish and not pretty. But at least, now I know that it is true and can adjust accordingly.
