Hey all, this technique was done on the camera, not in photoshop. The white balance is set to Tungsten, which makes the image go blue coz theres no tungsten light actually around, and then my flash has orange-yellow sellophane on it to bring the model back out in colour rather than blue. Pretty easy to do!

What do you think?

That's different!

I like the way the blue in the dress blends with the lighting in the 2nd shot. It's amazing that the bright colours aren't clashing with the overall blue throughout the photo too.

In a better location with similar lighting I think this would be much better.

Yea, it's not the best of locations, it's an old train station actually. really old.

She'd look good anywhere ;)

She's a very pretty model. She good and how she positions herself too. Very easy to work with.

That is pretty cool! I like how the red stuff still shows red in the back ground. Joe McNally's Hot Shoe Diaries mentions similar technique too. Good shots Chantelle!

Looks cool! Very nice pose on the first shot for sure.

Both are nice and creative. I like the first one. I see a bit of blue overcast on the model in the second one. Could it be removed?

most likely, do you mean the blue tinge in her skin?

what a cool effect! the fringing on her skin is kind of bothersome. wonder if there is something that can be done that eliminates it before you shoot or if it is a by product of the technique? hmm.

These are quite interesting; I like the play here:highfive:

I like the blue fringing myself. I guess it's because it's so prominent that, to me at least, it looks like it's meant to be.

Yeah, more vivid in the second photo for me. Could it be removed?

Unlikely I would think without a huge effort. Even then I have doubts as to the effectiveness of the process.
